A Brief History of BMW Motor Cars
The history of BMW began in 1913 with the incorporation, by Karl Rapp Rapp Motorenwerke. The company aircraft engine production plant located near old bicycles Munich. It was near the factory that created the Gustav Otto Flugzeugwerke AG Bayerische aircraft factory and in 1922 the two organizations merged to form BMW. The letters stand for Bayerische Motoren Werke.
In his first years of BMW produced aircraft engines mostly, but also some motorcycle engines. Indeed, the BMW logo is supposed to look like an airplane propeller rotates. It was not until 1928 when he bought a BMW car factory in Eisenach / Thuringia BMW started producing automobiles. With the factory that purchased the license to produce a small car called the Dixi. The first cars produced by BMW Dixi BMW badge factory, but the word was quickly abandoned Dixi. It introduced a new model called the BMW 3 / 15 DA-2 and the success of this car that allowed them to survive the Great Depression.
In 1936 BMW introduced the 328-type roadster, which quickly became the most successful car of sports at the time. The 328, designed by Fritz Fiedler, offered a series of features innovative, including a sleek and streamlined. It uses a 6-cylinder in-line gave the car excellent performance and was recognized for its excellent handling. Type 328 Roadster has accumulated a number of wins in the prestigious racing circuit and was nominated as coach of the century in 1999.
BMW's involvement in the production of aircraft engines during the war led to a three-year ban on the production end of the war. It was not until 1949 that they were able to re-produce what they did with the R24 250cc bike.
In 1951, BMW introduced a comprehensive, six-cylinder sedan called the 501. This was followed by the 502 which featured a light alloy V8 engine. Later in the 1950s, began to produce the BMW 507, a lightweight, powered V8 sports car. This was the vehicle that he hoped to revive the sport that had experienced a success with the Roadster 328. However, it would not. They were losing money on every 507 that took place and that production ceased in 1960.
Also during the 1950 BMW bought the rights to design and manufacture the Isetta would become one of the most successful cars in the micro years after the Second World War. Was a time when cheap transport, a short distance was needed and 2-seater with a 250 engine cc of the economy to meet the requirements very well. Isetta manufacturing rights were sold to production companies around the world, including the work of the British railway in Brighton, UK.
The BMW 1960 has been enjoying a number of notable successes, including the 1500 BMW was a 1499cc four-cylinder introduced in 1961 Touring Sedan. This was the first modern sport sedans from BMW. They even produced a series of popular sedans, including the popular BMW 2002. This was a 2 door sedan, which was based on the 1600 4-door. 2002 was the forerunner of the BMW 3 Series and production success of this model continued until 1976.
For 1970 BMW has built its reputation as an innovative manufacturing automobile company. The 70's saw the introduction of three-level sports sedan range consisting of the 3 Series, 5 Series and 7 Series. Between 1970 and 1993 BMW car production quadrupled and sales increased by 1700%.
The 1990s, since 1994, BMW has taken possession British Rover Group. It was not a successful business and in 2000, BMW disposed of Rover.
Today, "beemers' have retained their prestigious reputation for quality and reliability. The company is taking steps to reduce the impact they and their cars on the environment we can expect to see innovative and exciting developments for the automaker, not only survived two world wars and a depression mass, but flourished.

I'm thinking of buying a BMW 325Ci 2002 with 77,000 miles on it worth it?
This is another BMW I've seen in comparison with others. The first BMW 325Ci is a 2002 with 130,000 and the other is the same make and model year, but 8900 and 77,000 miles. I think I want the last, but have trouble even with 77.000 miles.
If you do not know how to assess the condition of the car will spend a few dollars to a mechanic to check. The one with 130,000 may be in better shape than that 77 000.
