How much is too many miles on a BMW?
I am interested in buying a BMW. Not old. But from what I hear mechanical problems can be costly. The number of miles in a BMW should not be taken into account, because it is unreliable?
From my experience in general mechanical components top last more than 150,000 miles. The question is whether all the little things will last so long. And in general the sensors, power failures, regulators windows water pump, cooling system, etc will leave about 75,000 miles to 100,000 miles. Also depending on what you get a series of 3 or 7 Series, usually a 7 Series will have electrical components much more than a 3 Series. As have many more things that barely cent. Also the generation of different cars and different models have different points of weakness. I say a sweet spot between a used car and new car from BMW will be around 30,000 to 40,000 miles. That way you not have to bear the brunt of full repayment plus it will have many miles to enjoy your car. Staff recommendation I can give is to see if the car is the repair of paper. They will know if the previous owner took care of it or not. In addition, if the car has less than 6 years and 100,000 miles can be qualify for extended warranty for many companies.
